Isuzu 4LC1 38hp and 42hp Cylinder Head

Cylinder head complete assembled, tested and ready to install. Suitable for Isuzu 4LC1 engines, or in marine terms the 38hp or 42hp (it's the same engine...)

The cylinder head is a genuine Isuzu part that has been reconditioned as follows:
  • Pressure tested for flaws
  • Chemically cleaned
  • Skimmed
  • Valves reground
  • New valve seals
  • Reassembled with valves, springs and collets and ready to install on your engine
These come with a full 12 month warranty.

Gasket Kit

NOTE: before replacing your cylinder head, you need to work out WHY it blew in the first place. Resolve that issue first; they do not simply fail for no reason on these engines.

PLEASE NOTE: You need to be very competent mechanically to attempt this, and if you are using a boat mechanic, please ensure your fitter has the correct tools and knowledge and is aware of the angular torque method. Incorrect refitting of the cylinder head will simply mean it blows the gasket again. This then means you are into another £300 for the gasket kit....and labour etc...

BEST PRACTICE ADVICE: You are advised to have your cylinder head pressure tested prior to refitting. A pressure test will cost you around £40 at a local engine rebuilders. It is well worth it as the head stretch bolts for this engine are not reusable, and with a head gasket kit costing £300 a time, you'd be daft not to do it properly. If the head is not correctly installed, and the head gets damaged, a replacement reconditioned head is £750, plus the gasket kit at £295 and labour....incorrect installation / diagnosis is a £1400 mistake, basically
